A massive fire broke out at Darlawn village in Aizawl district around midnight on sunday, destroying 2 Assam-type buildings, 1 RCC building and partly destroying another RCC building.
Sources said that there was no casualty in the inferno. However, a dog that got stuck in one of the houses was burnt to death.
After continued effort, the fire was doused by officials and local volunteers at around 2 am on Saturday. The cause of the fire was believed to be triggered by an electric short-circuit.
