Four Mizo youth have secured gold and silver medals at the India Skills National Competition 2024, earning the opportunity to represent India at the WorldSkills 2024 competition in Lyon, France. The event saw a 16-member team from Mizoram competing against over 500 contestants from across the country in 63 different trades. Among the standout performers, three Mizo youth clinched gold medals in the categories of shoe-making, floristry, and fashion technology. Additionally, another participant won a silver medal in the drone filmmaking category.
Three other team members were honoured with the Medallion of Excellence for their exceptional skills and performance.The Mizoram contingent showcased their talents in a variety of trades including bakery, beauty therapy, cooking, drone filmmaking, electronics, electrical installation, fashion technology, floristry, hairdressing, health and social care, IT software solution for business, patisserie and confectionery, painting and decoration, plumbing and heating, shoe making, and visual merchandising.
The WorldSkills 2024 competition in Lyon, scheduled for September, will see the finalists from Mizoram representing India on the global stage, highlighting their exceptional skills and dedication.
