A meeting was held today at the Secretariat Conference Hall, MINECO headed by the Secretary Shri Katikithala Srinivas, Ministry of Minority Affairs. This meeting was in regard to reviewing of work done in Mizoram under Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK), a centrally sponsored scheme.
At this meeting, the progress that has been made under PMJVK were discussed and reviewed and further targets for the State were addressed as well. Projects undertaken by different departments were reviewed and measurements that can be taken for further progress were discussed. Secretaries from different departments such as Sports & Youth Services, ICT, SWTAWCD, Deputy Commissioners from all districts and other government officials were present at this meeting.
Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) a Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS), is an area development programme under which community infrastructure and basic amenities are being created in the identified areas. The scheme is being implemented under the aegis of the State Governments/ Union Territory (UT) Administrations on a fund sharing pattern and the projects are implemented and managed by the concerned State/ UT Government. The proposals under PMJVK are recommended by the State Level Committee (SLC) headed by the Chief Secretary of the respective States/Union Territories (UTs) based on demand for infrastructure development in the identified areas.
