African Swine Fever has risen significantly in the state of Mizoram 

In the state of Mizoram, the incidence of pig mortality brought on by African Swine Fever (ASF) has increased significantly in recent years. On Monday, there were 68 recorded deaths, the majority of which were said to have taken place in the isolated Siaha district village of Lopu. Delays in reporting may have contributed to the 61 pig deaths in Lopu. With just two recorded casualties in the Lunglei district and no pigs culled, the number of ASF-related deaths on Sunday was significantly fewer.

The next day, however, 13 pigs from the districts of Kolasih and Serchhip were put down, which intensified the contamination efforts. Since the deadly African Swine Fever (ASF) outbreak started in February, 23,903 pigs have been culled and 14,604 swine have died throughout Mizoram. In all, 254 villages in the state have been impacted by the illness. To stop the disease from spreading, the relevant authorities are closely monitoring the current state of affairs.
