Edtech entrepreneurs Alakh Pandey and Prateek Maheshwari, co-founders of Physics Wallah, have made their first appearance on the Hurun India Rich List 2025 after their wealth surged by an impressive 223% each over the last year. The report highlights that both Pandey and Maheshwari now possess ₹14,520 crore in net worth, driven by the steady expansion of Physics Wallah—a homegrown edtech platform that started as a YouTube channel and has since grown into a multi-billion-rupee educational enterprise. This remarkable growth ranks the Allahabad-born Pandey and Ajmer-based Maheshwari among India’s fastest wealth creators by percentage, alongside top business figures in industries such as industrial products and jewelry.
The M3M Hurun India Rich List 2025 also reveals that India welcomed 58 new billionaires this year, with the education technology sector emerging as a surprising source of wealth in a post-pandemic environment where many startups faced challenges.
