In yet another success in its crusade against smuggling activities Assam Rifles recovered 240 grams of heroin worth Rs. 1.68 crore at Champhai’s Jail Veng on Thursday, Assam Rifles said in a statement. The operation was carried out by a team of Assam Rifles and police department based on specific information.
Two persons from Aizawl and Siaha have been arrested for possessing the heroin during a special area domination patrol, it said.
The two accused and the seized contraband worth Rs. 1.68 crore were handed over to police in Champhai on Thursday for further legal proceedings, the statement said.
