The District Administration,Cachar held a detailed preparatory meeting at CDC Dholai office today to host a vibrant day-long Border Festival at Dholai on 24th November, bringing together communities from Assam and Mizoram in a spirited celebration of harmony, culture, and sports. The meeting saw participation from both the states including H. Vanlalbiakzauva, SDO (Civil), Vairengte, and Lalnufela Chawngthu, MCS, SDO (Sadar), Mamit district, Mizoram.
From the Cachar side, the session was chaired by DDC Cachar, Shri Norsing Bey, ACS, who emphasised seamless coordination between both administrations. CDC Dholai, Shri Roktim Baruah, ACS, led on-ground planning while other officers attended to assess cultural, logistical, and security aspects. On the day of the event, the B.N.M.P. School field will host a friendly football match followed by a volleyball match between teams from Cachar and Mizoram, symbolising unity and sportsmanship. Simultaneously, the CDC Dholai office ground will set the stage for an engaging cultural programme, featuring dynamic performances by cultural troupes from Vairengte and Mamit, alongside artistes from Cachar. Items to be conducted were discussed in detail.
With sports, culture, and community bonding at its heart, the day-long Border Festival at Dholai promises to further strengthen inter-state relations while celebrating the vibrant spirit of the people living along the Assam-Mizoram border.
