The Chief General Manager (LPG), Indian Oil AOD, State Office Dr D P Vidyarthi handed over the advanced composite cylinder to Pu Lalduhoma Chief Minister of Mizoram, at his office today. Chief Minister is accompanied by Pu B. Lalchhanzova, Supply Minister. This marks the continued rollout of the innovative composite cylinders, which had previously been presented to the Honorable Chief Minister and the Supply Minister of Mizoram on earlier occasions.

During the meeting, Dr. D. P. Vidyarthi reported on their initiatives for renovating the Mualkhang Gas Bottling Plant, which will have the capacity to fill over 6,000 bottles a day. He also mentioned that the selection of sites for the construction of a rail-fed oil depot will soon be finalized. Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOC) has announced its plan to extend this initiative by distributing the composite cylinders to all Cabinet Ministes of Mizoram in the near future, emphasizing its commitment to enhancing LPG accessibility and safety across the state.

The Indane composite cylinder, IndianOil’s latest LPG offering, was launched two years ago and features a robust three-layered construction. The cylinder’s design includes a blow-molded High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) inner liner, a composite layer of polymer-wrapped fiberglass, and a HDPE outer jacket. This advanced construction provides numerous benefits over traditional steel cylinders. These new-age composite cylinders are lightweight, with a tare weight that is half of their steel counterparts, making them easier to handle. They have a translucent body that allows customers to easily check the LPG level against light, facilitating better planning for refills. Additionally, they are rust-free, eliminating the risk of stains and marks on surfaces, and are aesthetically designed to suit contemporary kitchens. Most importantly, these cylinders are explosion-proof, offering enhanced safety. Indian Oil Corporation Limited urges all customers in Mizoram to switch to the new-age composite cylinders by contacting their nearest Indane distributor. This switch not only ensures enhanced safety and convenience but also aligns with the modern lifestyle demands of today’s consumers.
