„Our undying dream is to reunite under a single administrative unit“, the CM said an NGOCC squadled by Chairman Lalhmachhuana. The state government is opposed to a fence along the 510-km-long Mizoram-Myanmar border and covets FMR to stay. The present border was demarcated by the British as part of their divide-and-rule policy, so it is an imposed border. Brothers are disconnected in order to ensure we will never be an empire.

With the chorus against the move growing louder, leaders of key ibal organizations from Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Assam, including the governing Nationalist Democratic Party (NDP), came together in Dimapur on Friday to press for reconsideration of the decision.

. The meeting in Nagaland Town was attended by the state’s political parties, including the governing Nationalist Democratic Party (NDP).

According to a draft representation prepared for PM Modi, the moves to do away with FMR and put up a fence „are impractical and dehumanizing to people on both sides of the border.“ A 12-member committee was formed to push the cause. „But may also diminish the prospects for peace in the restive region.“
