Mizoram Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma has reiterated his administration’s commitment to deport all Non-Mizos residing in the state without valid Inner Line Permit (ILP) documents. Speaking at the 75th Central YMA General Conference on Wednesday night, the Chief Minister said he recently held discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the deportation of Non-Mizos from Mizoram.

Lalduhoma emphasized that the state government’s policy aims to prevent cultural assimilation and safeguard Mizo identity, noting a recent increase in the number of Non-Mizos staying in the state without proper ILP documentation. “To protect our people and culture, those without valid ILP must leave the state,” he stated. The Chief Minister reminded attendees that the ILP system has been in place since the British colonial era and continues to serve as a safeguard for the Mizo community. He urged every Young Mizo Association (YMA) branch to actively identify and report Non-Mizos residing illegally in their areas so that appropriate action can be taken.

Lalduhoma further revealed that the Mizoram government has introduced new ILP guidelines enabling authorities to detect overstaying tourists and expired permits more efficiently. He stressed the need for careful and systematic ILP inspections to be conducted across all localities to ensure compliance with the law.
