Manik Saha, the chief minister of Tripura, stated that the BJP government is attempting to maintain traditional customs and culture, such as Natak (drama), Jatra (folk theater), and Putul Khela (doll game). The chief minister stated that the state’s BJP government has been working and taking action to conserve the state’s ancient culture and traditions, such as Putul Khela, Jatra, and Natak, after kicking off the 15-day state-level “Jatra Utsav” at Vivekananda in northern Tripura’s Dharmanagar.
“We frequently discussed the ancient customs that are gradually disappearing during the talks surrounding this issue. We held a folk congress, or Kirtan Sanmelan. Thus, we made the decision to host the Jatra Utsav,” he stated. Biswa Bandhu Sen, the speaker of the Tripura Assembly, was instrumental in planning the Jatra Utsav. “Organizing it here was the right choice because traditional Jatra is still very popular among the rural population,” Saha remarked. He stated that the state government is striving for the state’s overall development in accordance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision.
“We have been striving for progress. Development is what PM Modi means. The goal of our state government is general development. The state’s environment has been contaminated by the Left parties’ 35-year control, and now they are at odds with NOTA.”
