As part of the Government of India’s “Aadi Karmayogi Abhiyan” under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, a three-day District Process Lab training for Block Master Trainers (BMTs) of Lunglei District began today at the Circuit House Conference Hall, Lunglei. The training will continue from 17–19 September 2025. The programme was inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner Pi Zoramdini, who urged the trainers to equip themselves effectively so that they may in turn train others and act as catalysts for community development. She highlighted that the “Aadi Karmayogi Abhiyan” seeks to ensure efficient and responsive governance across districts.
The inaugural session was chaired by Lunglei District Social Welfare Officer & District Master Trainer (DMT) Pu CL Joseph. A team of seven District Master Trainers is conducting the training, which covers the importance of BMTs in grassroots-level training and their roles in facilitating sustainable village development. Altogether, 17 Block Master Trainers selected from Lunglei, Lungsen and Bunghmun RD Blocks—covering 48 villages—are attending the District Process Lab. After completing the three-day training, they will return to their respective blocks to train village-level participants. The BMTs will lead Block-Level Orientations and Village-Level Workshops, assist in formulating Village Action Plans, and oversee the establishment of Village Seva Centres.
The “Aadi Karmayogi Abhiyan – Responsive Governance Programme” is a flagship national initiative by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, with the aim of preparing 2 million grassroots “change leaders” in tribal areas. It is aligned with the vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047”, and focuses on empowering local communities to identify their development priorities through participatory planning, ensuring responsive governance, last-mile delivery of services and real-time grievance redressal.
