Dordarshan Kendra (DDK) Aizawl Director of News Nampibou Marinmai participated in the Central Government’s Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign by planting a Herhse sapling at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) campus in MZU yesterday. The campaign was held under the Mission LiFE (Lifestyle For Environment) programme. The Director expressed optimism about the campaign’s success, emphasizing its potential to change public attitudes towards environmental pollution. He conveyed hope that the initiative would inspire a deeper commitment to environmental conservation.
Additionally, the Director encouraged students to embrace challenges and consider their future beyond academic achievements. He praised the hospitality of the Mizos, highlighting it as a testament to the region’s welcoming nature. The Director also underscored the importance of planning for the future, urging students to think strategically about their paths beyond their educational journeys. The Plant for Mother campaign is carried out across the country and many saplings have been planted across the state in various places, with saplings also scheduled for planting at Doordarshan, AIR, and PIB campuses.
