In an effort to ensure a steady supply of electricity throughout the state, Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath has canceled all vacation time for Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) workers during the monsoon season. The order was given at a high-level review meeting on monsoon readiness that was convened on Wednesday at Pragna Bhavan in Agartala. During the meeting, senior officials and engineers received comprehensive instructions from Power Secretary Abhishek Singh.

Our main goal is to guarantee that citizens have a steady supply of electricity. During the discussion, Minister Nath emphasized that in order to fulfill this task, we must all cooperate. In appreciation of their efforts, he said, employees can get extra bonuses following the monsoon season. Senior officials from several electricity department divisions, TSECL Managing Director Biswajit Basu, Finance Director Sarvjit Singh Dogra, and Additional Secretary Udayan Sinha attended the meeting.

Secretary Singh discussed departmental issues, possible hazards, and preventative measures in an insightful presentation. Authorities emphasized the need of managing vegetation, pointing out that power outages are often caused by fallen branches during storms. Since the state government takes proactive steps to prevent widespread electrical shortages during the crucial monsoon months, the leave cancellation policy, which covers May and June, only allows exceptions for extreme medical circumstances.
