Four persons were arrested by Police and were detained at Vaivakawn Police station on Sunday for indulging in violence inside the Seventh Day Adventist Church hospital at Chawnpui neighbourhood in Aizawl on Friday, Police officials said. Police said that Roderick Thangdingliana Renthlei (32), Lalduhawma Khawlhring (38), Lalsangzuala Ralte (33) and Abenego Lalrinawma (31) all of them residents of Aizawl were arrested and are being detained at Vaivakawn Polic station. They will be produced before a district court of Monday.
The four persons allegedly were involved in a brawl on Friday last entered the church-run hospital to attack one of the patients also reportedly connected with the brawl resulting in chaos inside the hospital ward creating rukus. Medical superintendent of the hospital filed a complain to the Vaivakawn Police Station as the video of the hospital rukus going viral in the social media.
The incident became a subject of debate as Roderick Thangdingliana Renthlei, in his social media posts claimed that he is the son of a well-known police officer and one of the top leaders of the central committee of the Young Mizo Association (YMA) and also close to state chief minister Lalduhoma. Reports said that state home minister K. Sapdanga instructed the Police to expedite investigation of the incident and bring the culprits to justice.
