Godrej Agrovet Limited’s Oil Palm Business has launched its first Samadhan center for oil palm farmers in Bukvannei, Kolasib district, marking a strategic move to strengthen the state’s palm oil industry. Samadhan, a one-stop solution (OSS) center, provides farmers with comprehensive support including modern farming tools, advisory services, and productivity-enhancing solutions, covering all stages from seed to harvest.

The launch was attended by Joseph Lalnuntluanga, District Agriculture Officer, Kolasib; Lianthanzauva, Assistant Director of Agriculture; and Sougata Niyogi, CEO – Oil Palm Business, Godrej Agrovet. Under the National Mission on Edible Oil – Oil Palm (NMEO-OP), Mizoram has a potential cultivation area of 60,000–70,000 hectares. The center will guide farmers on balanced fertilizer application, soil testing, irrigation management, and drip systems to overcome dry-season water challenges, supporting sustained productivity in mature gardens.

Sougata Niyogi highlighted, “Samadhan reinforces our commitment to sustainable growth and helps farmers access government schemes, developmental finance, and modern technologies.” Each center aims to support around 2,000 hectares of oil palm cultivation. The launch is expected to increase demand for oil palm seedlings, fertilizers, and farm equipment in surrounding areas. Local traders and suppliers anticipate higher activity in the coming months as farmers adopt modern cultivation practices and expand their acreage, reflecting positive momentum in the regional oil palm supply chain.
