Governor, Chief Minister and Party Leaders Extend State Day Greetings

The Governor, Chief Minister and leaders of various political parties have extended their greetings to the people of Mizoram on the occasion of the State’s 39th State Day.

Gen.(Rtd) Vijay Kumar Singh, in his message, said that since attaining statehood Mizoram has been on a steady journey towards peace, development and progress. He remarked that State Day symbolises the resilience, unity and aspirations of the Mizo people.

The Governor further noted that Mizoram is widely recognised for its rich and vibrant culture, discipline and strong sense of mutual respect. He stated that the State continues to make strides in education, healthcare and sustainable development without compromising its community unity. He also encouraged citizens to support the Government’s vision of making India a developed nation by 2047 through unity and peace.

Chief Minister Lalduhoma conveyed his greetings and expressed gratitude to the people, stating that the observance of State Day is possible because of their prayers and collective efforts.

Former Chief Minister and MNF President, Zoramthanga, also extended his wishes. He recalled that Mizoram attained statehood following the signing of the Peace Accord between the MNF and the Government of India, describing it as one of the most successful peace accords in the country. He praised the unity of the people and said that State Day holds special significance not only for those residing in Mizoram but also for Mizos living in different parts of the world.

BJP State President, K. Beichhua, also conveyed his greetings to the people on the occasion of Mizoram Statehood Day.
