Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati discusses with DG of I&B (NE Zone) how to ramp up awareness of central schemes in Mizoram

Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati interacted with Shri K. Satish Nambudiripad, Director General, NE Zone, Head of PIB and CBC, Ministry of I&B at the Raj Bhavan today. In this meeting, the Governor urged the PIB to play an important role in awareness campaigns across the state with a target to enroll the maximum number of beneficiaries under centrally sponsored schemes, social security schemes, and welfare schemes. In his meeting with DG, PIB(NE), Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati expressed his dissatisfaction with a reduced level of awareness of most of the centrally sponsored schemes, social security schemes, and welfare schemes within the state, even by the elite and learned sections of the society.

He voiced his concerns that the stakeholders are deprived of many benefits and financial assistance due lack of awareness. Further, he added that even some officials of some departments are either unaware of central schemes under their departments or unable to execute the implementations properly.

In this regard, he advised the PIB along with its sister units such as DDK and AIR to come forward and chalk out a plan on how to ramp up awareness campaigns on the said schemes. Shri Nampibou Marinmai, Director (News), Doordarshan Kendra(DDK) was present in this meeting.
