A group of 34 officer trainees from the Mizoram Civil Service (MCS), Mizoram Information Service (MIS) and Mizoram Finance & Accounts Service (MF&AS), currently undergoing Foundation Training at the Administrative Training Institute (ATI) in MINECO, Aizawl, called on Governor General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd), at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan this afternoon. In his address to the newly appointed officers, Governor General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh emphasised the importance of serving the public with sincerity and dedication. He described the training period as a vital opportunity for learning and personal growth, encouraging trainees to pose questions freely to enhance their understanding.
He urged them to focus on progress and innovation, particularly in challenging circumstances, noting that the skills acquired now will provide a robust foundation for their future roles and assist in overcoming obstacles. The Governor also highlighted the significance of embracing digitisation and continually improving their proficiencies. He stressed the need to understand the public’s requirements and to develop practical, effective policies so that benefit passed on to the last person. He also encouraged them to be change-makers when in positions to effect change, inspiring them to earn recognition through their committed service and valuable contributions to society.
ATI Director Pi Rita Lalnunmawii Pachuau shared details about the institute’s activities and training programmes, mentioning that this financial year, ATI has 24 state-funded training sessions and 32 programs supported by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). The event was hosted by Pu Lalngaihzuala, Private Secretary to the Governor. Pu Ajit Roy, Secretary to the Governor, also spoke to the trainees, offering words of encouragement before the programme concluded.
