The governor of Mizoram, General (retired) Vijay Kumar Singh, highlighted the significant contribution Mizoram University (MZU) has made to the advancement of higher education in the state and the Northeast over the institution’s 25-year history. Singh, the central varsity’s main rector, gave a speech during MZU’s silver jubilee/foundation day celebration in Aizawl. He praised the institution’s past and acknowledged the significant contributions that its faculty, staff, and students have made throughout the years.
The governor commended the university’s facilities, beautiful campus, and solid academic basis, calling it a thriving academic community. The governor also praised MZU’s recent accomplishments, such as its NAAC “A” Grade accreditation and its continuous placement in India’s top 100 universities by NIRF since 2016. He went on to say that MZU was ranked among the top 30 universities in the country and one of the top two Central Universities in the Northeast.
Mizoram University (MZU) is in a position to make a substantial contribution to India’s Act East Policy by fostering more scholarly and cultural exchanges with nations in South East Asia. MZU was founded in 2001 and currently includes 40 associated institutions, 10 schools of study, and 37 departments. It has a silver jubilee celebration until April 25 and serves students from more than 20 states as well as about 100 international students.
