Mumbai Indians survived in IPL by beating Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 wickets. Batting first, Hyderabad scored 173 runs for 8 wickets. In reply, Mumbai made 174 for 3 wickets in 17.2 overs. Suryakumar Yadav kept Mumbai’s hopes alive with an unbeaten century.With a target of 174 runs to win, Mumbai was under pressure. Ishan Kishan (9 off 7), Rohit Sharma (4 off 5) and Naman Dhir (not out on 9) got out one after another. Suryakumar and Tilak Verma brought Mumbai back into the fight after losing 3 wickets for 31 runs. They tried to put pressure on the Hyderabad bowlers by batting aggressively in the fourth wicket pair. Suryakumar was more aggressive.
The five-time IPL champions won mainly by relying on his bat. He played an unbeaten innings of 102 runs off 51 balls. Hit 12 fours and 6 sixes. Tilak also played along with him.
