In Maharashtra, first section of 21-km undersea tunnel of Bullet train project opens

The first segment of the 21-kilometer underwater tunnel between Thane and BKC (Bandra Kurla Complex) has opened, marking a significant milestone for the bullet train project, according to the Railways Ministry. With the completion of 310 kilometers of viaduct construction, the bullet train project has reached a significant milestone. The construction of stations, bridges, overhead power lines, and track laying is proceeding quickly. In Maharashtra, construction has also accelerated. Simultaneously, the ministry reported that the procurement of operations and control systems was proceeding smoothly. The Japanese government has consented to include E10 Shinkansen trains in the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet train project, in keeping with the strategic alliance between India and Japan. It further stated that the simultaneous introduction of E10 in Japan and India is notable.
