Indigo Airlines has decided to treble the number of flights between Delhi and Aizawl beginning Saturday to improve connectivity between the two cities. The low-cost carrier will now operate ten flights per week between the two cities, up from five prior to this move. Indigo will run this route on a daily basis, with two additional flights on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, according to officials familiar with the situation.
Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma was present at the Lengpui airport near Aizawl on Saturday to kick launch the airline’s route expansion. He also handed out boarding permits to travelers. Speaking on the occasion, the Mizoram Chief Minister thanked the Ministry of Civil Aviation and IndiGo for supporting his request to enhance the frequency of flights to the national capital. CM Lalduhoma stated that the additional flights will improve air transportation and strengthen Mizoram’s relations with the rest of the country in a variety of sectors, promoting economic, cultural, and social integration.
