Landslides wreak havoc in Mizoram amid heavy rains

Mizoram has been struck by multiple landslides following incessant rains over the past 48 hours, leading to significant damage across the state.

Early this morning, tragedy struck as three houses in Aizawl’s Zuangtui locality were destroyed by a landslide. Authorities responded swiftly, evacuating 20 families from their homes in Salem Veng as a precautionary measure to ensure their safety amidst the ongoing landslide risks.

Reports indicate that several other incidents of landslides have caused extensive property damage in various parts of Mizoram. The local administration and emergency services remain on high alert to mitigate further risks and provide assistance to affected residents.
