Lawngtlai dc and sp visits polling stations in view of upcoming ladc election

In preparation for the upcoming Member of District Council (MDC) General Election, 2025, of the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC), the District Election Officer (DEO) and Deputy Commissioner, Shri  Donny Lalruatsanga, along with Superintendent of Police, Shri PC Lalchunglura, conducted an inspection tour of various polling stations in the Lawngtlai East area today. During their visit, they held meetings with Village Council (VC) leaders, NGOs, and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) at each location. Shri Donny Lalruatsanga stated that preparations for a free and fair election are underway. Emphasizing that India’s democracy rests upon the active participation of voters, he urged all eligible citizens to exercise their right to vote and to ensure that the election is conducted in a peaceful and clean manner. He appealed to all political parties to campaign ethically and avoid excessive expenditure. The DEO also instructed that all necessary arrangements and requirements at polling stations should be completed on time.

Highlighting the importance of coordination between the administration and the public, the Deputy Commissioner called upon VC and NGO leaders to continue their cooperation for the smooth conduct of the election process. Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police Shri PC Lalchunglura assured that adequate security measures are being taken to ensure the peaceful conduct of the election. He mentioned that strict adherence to rules and regulations will be maintained, and expressed confidence that through effective coordination among the police, NGOs, and VCs, the election will be conducted successfully and peacefully. The DEO and SP visited several polling stations, including Govt. Primary School-II, Lungzarhtum; Govt. Primary School-I, II, III Bualpui NG; Govt. Primary School-II, Siachangkawn; Govt. Primary School-I, II, S. Lungpher; Govt. Middle School, Cheural; and Govt. Middle School, Rawlbuk.

At each location, meetings were held with village leaders and NGOs, and local needs and concerns were discussed. Shri Donny Lalruatsanga assured them that their issues would be duly noted and addressed wherever possible. The officials were accompanied by Shri  Thomas Maratha Hlychho, BDO, Sangau, and Shri  Lalrindika, SDC, Lawngtlai.
