Aizawl: Tui Bon Natural, a firm established in Mizoram and well-known for its “Local All Natural Soda,” has successfully completed a pre-seed fundraising round, reaching a USD 1.25 million value. This accomplishment represents the first equity funding that a business in Mizoram has obtained.
Tui Bon is a non-alcoholic beverage line that showcases the distinct flavors of Northeast India by using local fruits such as pomelo, roselle, orange, and dragonfruit. It was founded by Zomawii Khiangte and Felipe Rodriguez. After launching their prosperous professions in New York, the company’s founders wanted to improve Mizoram’s smallholder farmers’ access to markets.
Local All Natural Soda has been a well-known beverage partner for significant music festivals in the Northeast since its inception in December 2021. The money raised will go toward an ambitious strategy of expansion that will target eco- and health-conscious customers in major cities like Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, and Pune. The funding infusion will make it possible to expand distribution, add new flavors, and enhance production.
“The unique tastes of Northeast India remain largely unexplored on the global stage,” said Zomawii Khiangte. In Mizo, Tui Bon means “very tasty.” We are thrilled to convey the unmatched spirit of our region to customers worldwide.
Alsisar Impact, a preeminent incubator in the frontier markets of North-East and Himalayan South Asia, led the funding drive. Important impact and angel investors took an interest in their work, including Shoba Narayan, Narayan Ramachandran, Aditya Sheth, and Sonali Mehta-Rao.
“With their passion for high quality, sustainable, and socially impactful business, Zomawii and Felipe have built a local brand that can transform how global markets view the Northeast,” remarked Anuj Sharma, Founder of Alsisar Impact.
By exporting superior consumer goods from the state to other regions of India, Tui Bon, a company with its headquarters located in Mizoram, aimed to spearhead a revolutionary movement that would alter the social and economic fabric of the state.
