B. Lalchhanzova, Minister, IPR & PS Department, presented the awards. The ceremony was conducted by Director K. Vanlalsangi, and Secretary Betsy Zothanpari Sailo presented a brief report on the short film competition.
Addressing the gathering, B. Lalchhanzova said that a good film is powerful and can influence the audience’s thoughts, guiding them toward positive direction. He emphasized that it is important not merely to produce many films, but to produce quality films. The Minister also announced that, with support from the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, the ‘Lemchan – Mizo Film Festival’ is planned to be held in Mizoram from March 16–18 to promote the state’s film industry. He stated that it is important to make good use of this festival so that filmmaking and related activities can continue to develop as sustainable livelihoods.
He further noted that while the Mizo film industry is progressing, achieving greater success requires continuous learning and skill development, strong self-confidence, and maintaining both physical and mental health. He stressed the importance of perseverance and a mindset of “I can do it,” and said efforts should be made so that Mizo films attain the standard required to win National Awards.
