Major Methamphetamine Bust, 3 women nabbed with over 5 kgs; 2 Myanmar nationals among arrested

In Aizawl, a significant drug bust unfolded as the Excise and Narcotics Department apprehended a 32-year-old man, Lalmuankima, near the State Guest House in Chaltlang, in possession of 11 grams of heroin. Upon delving deeper into the case, the authorities uncovered connections to three women residing in the Aizawl Hunthar locality. KC Thangmawii (44), hailing from Zokhawthar, Champhai district, and two Myanmar nationals, Lalthanpari (54) and Tluangthanpari (39), residents of Falam district in Myanmar, currently residing in Aizawl, were arrested around midnight on Monday.

The Narcotics force seized a substantial amount of drugs from their possession, including 109 grams of heroin and a staggering 5.888 kilograms (equivalent to 60,000 tablets) of Methamphetamine.

All individuals apprehended have been charged under the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Act of 1984 and were presented in court on Tuesday. If convicted, they could face imprisonment ranging from 10 to 20 years, along with fines ranging from 1 to 2 lakhs.
