Mizoram chief minister Lalduhoma on Saturday met Godrej Group President Rakesh Swami in Mumbai where they discussed expansion of the activities of Godrej Agrovet in the state, an official statement said. Lalduhoma and Swami deliberated on finding ways to upgrade the palm oil mill at Assam border Bukvannei village in Kolasib district and establishment of Godrej Samadhan centre in the state. The possibility of inter-cropping of palm oil plants with ginger, turmeric, chili and other cash crops was also discussed.
Swami expressed the hope to the chief minister that units for processing passion fruit, fish feed, fertiliser, poultry, frozen food as well as soap and glycerin can be taken up in Mizoram and that experts belonging different business sections of the Group will be visiting the state next month to explore the possibilities of extension of the activities of the Godrej Group. Lalduhoma was accompanied by OSD to CM Jonathan Lalremruata and has been making plans to meet several politicians and businessmen during his stay in Mumbai.
The chief minister is in Mumbai attending the wedding of AnantAmbani and Radhika Merchant on the invitation of MukeshAmbani. He along with his three grandchildren were brought to Mumbai by Learjet aircraft chartered by the Ambanis from the lone Lengpui airport on Friday and are expected to be back in Aizawl by Monday. EOM
