Mizoram CM Awarded Doctorate For Steering State Beyond Insurgency

Chief Minister Lalduhoma was awarded a doctorate in Tamil Nadu, recognizing his visionary leadership, according to an official from the Chief Minister’s Office on Tuesday.

The honour was presented during the university’s 31st Convocation held on July 12 in Coimbatore, where Lalduhoma attended as the chief guest. He received the Doctor of Letters (Honoris Causa) for his significant contributions to society and leadership excellence.

In his acceptance speech, Lalduhoma dedicated the honour to the people of Mizoram, the first fully literate state in India. He highlighted education’s transformative role and praised Karunya for its faith-based educational values and technological advancement. He encouraged graduates to live purpose-driven lives and become forces of positive change.

The ruling Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) congratulated the Chief Minister, applauding his commitment to societal welfare and his efforts in restoring peace in Mizoram, a region that had experienced two decades of insurgency under the former Mizo National Front.
