Mizoram CM Leads State-Level Police Conference

The Mizoram State Level Police Conference convened under Chief Minister Lalduhoma to evaluate outcomes from the 60th National Level DGP/IGP Conference. The Chief Minister noted the implementation of 107 recommendations aimed at modernizing policing in India, emphasizing that Mizoram has begun their application. He praised the local police for their role in reducing drug abuse and combating arecanut trafficking. The Chief Minister revealed funding of ₹3.18 crore received for police modernization and additional ₹21.276 crore approved for procurement of essential equipment. The meeting addressed the government’s broader vision for police modernization and emphasized public safety. DGP Sharad Agarwal presented the National Conference recommendations, which align with the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, focusing on security, technology use in policing, and disaster management preparedness. Senior officials and Superintendents of Police from all districts participated in the conference.
