Chief Minister Lalduhoma held a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Saturday to discuss various important matters, including the fencing of the Indo-Myanmar border.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister expressed his dissatisfaction with the construction plans of the border fence and told the Union Minsiter that while fences were being erected on the Indo-Myanmar borders in Manipur, he believed that Mizoram should be exempted from this project. Despite his concerns, the Chief Minister remains hopeful due to the positive responses received from the Union Minister.
Additionally, the issue of Myanmar refugees was also discussed during the meeting. The Home Minister assured the Chief Minister that he would be making efforts to address this matter.
