Mizoram Government shall pay off every outstanding medical bills at the start of its following financial year: Minister

According to information provided to the Assembly on Thursday, the Mizoram government has resolved to pay off all outstanding medical costs under the state healthcare program before the start of the next fiscal year in 2024–25. 

More than Rs 45.59 crore is scheduled to be released to Mizoram State Health Care Scheme (MSHCS) beneficiaries, according to Health Minister Lalrinpuii.

She added that as part of the order to pay off all outstanding debts, the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) government has set aside Rs 40 crore from monies allotted by the Economic and Social Development Policy (SEDP) from the previous Mizo National Front (MNF) government.

In addition to the Rs 40 crore, the finance-portfolio-holding Chief Minister Lalduhoma announced that Rs 15 crore had been issued for the payment of outstanding invoices.

By the end of the financial year, the Mizoram State will pay down all outstanding medical costs. With the start of the next financial year, the Mizoram government will have paid off its outstanding medical costs. Minister
