Mizoram Governor General (Rtd) Vijay Kumar Singh inaugurates Indo Pacific GeoIntelligence Forum 2025

Mizoram Governor General (Rtd) Vijay Kumar Singh inaugurated the 15th edition of the Geospatial World-organized Indo-Pacific GeoIntelligence Forum 2025, yesterday at Hotel Vivanta, Dwarka, New Delhi.

In his address, Governor Vijay Kumar Singh emphasized the significance of the region and said that, “Indo-Pacific region is not only a key hub for global trade and economic growth but also a focal point form emerging geopolitical and security challenges”. While stressing the importance of Indo-pacific for the world, Gen (Dr) VK Singh noted that Geospatial technology and GeoIntelligence are indispensable tools in shaping strategic decision making, enhancing national security and fostering regional cooperation. Safeguarding geospatial data from cyber threats is vital, as more of our GeoIntelligence system rely on cloud computing and interconnected data servers, he added. He further stated that the Indo-Pacific region is a strategically important area contributing significantly to global economic stability, rich in natural resources and is home to more than half of the world’s population.

The Mizoram Governor also stressed the need for adopting advanced next-generation GeoIntelligence tools such as AI, Machine Learning and Spatial Computing to ensure regional stability and security. He urged stakeholders in the region to collaborate and take proactive measures to address emerging challenges in the region effectively.
