Mizoram is fully prepared for counting of votes

Aizawl district Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer for the election to the lone Mizoram Lok Sabha seat Nazuk Kumar on Monday said that all preparations except final randomisation of counting officials to be assigned on counting tables have been completed to undertake counting on Tuesday. 7Kumar told media persons that final randomisation of counting officials to be on duty at counting tables will be electronically conducted through software at 5.30 AM on Tuesday in the presence of Counting Observers.

“Counting officials have been instructed to reach their respective counting centres by 6:30 am on counting day. They will be seated at their respective tables by 7:30 am and counting of votes will start at 8:00 am,” she said.

A separate counting hall has been designated at the Aizawl Deputy Commissioner’s office for counting of postal ballots and Electronically Transmitted Postal Ballot System (ETPBMS). So far, 2,656 votes have been received through ETPBMS and 2,107 through postal ballots till date, she said.
