To strengthen global ties with ethnic communities, the Mizoram Government on Monday launched the Mizo DiasporaHub, a digital platform aimed at connecting and coordinating Mizo populations worldwide.
Developed jointly by the Mizo Diaspora Cell under the Chief Minister’s Office and local tech firm LushAITech, the portal was inaugurated by Chief Minister Lalduhoma. The initiative comes amid growing migration of Mizos from Myanmar and other Indian regions due to political unrest and economic challenges.
At the launch, Lalduhoma highlighted the need for ongoing engagement with the global Mizo community and encouraged all welfare associations and diaspora groups to register on the platform to enhance communication, cooperation, and support networks.
He stated, “The Mizo Diaspora Cell will serve as a vital link between the government and Mizos abroad,” affirming the government’s commitment to assist Mizos in distress.
The platform facilitates communication among diaspora groups, provides support resources, and helps coordinate relief efforts. Vanlaldina, Commissioner and Secretary to the Chief Minister, explained that the Diaspora Cell, established in June 2023, will now expand its scope using this platform.
Currently, the portal is open for welfare associations’ registration, with individual registrations planned for the next phase.
