Mizoram: Mass Blood Donation Held on Valentine’s Day

In Mizoram, voluntary mass blood donation was organized across the state in celebration of Valentine’s Day. In Aizawl, the mass blood donation was attended by Sports & Youth Services Minister Lalnghinglova Hmar. Voluntary mass blood donation in celebration of Valentine’s Day has been organised since 2010.

Speaking on the occasion, Lalnghinglova Hmar lauded the youth of the state who came forward to donate blood for a noble cause in saving someone’s life. The Minister said that he himself donated blood on more than 20 occasions. The mass blood donation program was organized by Association for Voluntary Blood Donation (AVBD), Mizoram State AIDS Control Society (MSACS) and Aizawl Civil Hospital Blood Bank.

In Aizawl alone, about 300 donors came forward to donate their blood on the occasion.
