According to an official, the state administration plans to begin biometric enrolment of Myanmar refugees this July. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Lalduhoma contacted the Protector General of Emigrants (PGE), M. C. Luther Bhagat, regarding unlawful overseas recruiting by some employment firms in the state. He pointed out that such agencies’ licenses have been revoked for illegally transporting young people abroad. Lalduhoma further stressed the importance of criminal penalty orders from the PGE against these unscrupulous recruiters. The PGE, which operates under the Ministry of External Affairs, protects Indian workers who travel overseas. Bhagat recommended individuals to exercise caution when seeking international career possibilities.
