Mizoram police and the Assam Rifles are used to capture heroin valued at Rs. 1.75 crore

Officials from the Assam Rifles and the Mizoram police stated that they conducted two distinct operations on Saturday in Champhai, east Mizoram, and acted upon specific intelligence to recover heroin valued at a total of Rs. 1.75 crore. According to her, a couple and a citizen of Myanmar were detained for having the illegal goods.

She stated that during a coordinated operation in the approximate vicinity of the Melbuk Road Crossing in the Champhai district, 124 grams of heroin valued at Rs. 86.8 lakh were taken from the custody of Kapneihchhawna (40), a Sadaw, Myanmar, resident. In a separate operation, a couple in Zokhawthar’s New Hruikawn on the Mizoram-Myanmar border in the Champhai district was found to be in possession of 127 grams of heroin valued at Rs. 88.9 lakh, the spokesperson said.

The official stated that on the same day, the three suspects and the full shipment were turned over to Zokhawthar police for additional legal action.
