C. Lalmuanthanga, the leader of the United Legislature Party (ULP) and designated Chief Executive Member (CEM), along with five other members of the party, submitted a letter to the Governor of Mizoram, asserting that they have garnered the requisite support from Members of the District Council (MDCs) to form the government in the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC). Despite the absence of Honorable Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, the Governor’s Secretary, Lalsangliana, received the letter on his behalf, marking a pivotal step towards the formation of the new government.
C. Lalmuanthanga apprised the Secretary that on May 1, 2024, all 13 members of the United Legislature Party had formally submitted a letter to the Governor via Lawngtlai District Council, formally staking their claim to form the government. The Secretary assured the ULP leader that the Governor would convene a meeting on Friday to discuss the matter further, with an anticipated issuance of an approval letter.
Furthermore, in a series of crucial meetings, the United Legislature Party leader, along with the accompanying members, held discussions with key political figures, including Mizo National Front President and former Chief Minister Zoramthanga, and Mizoram Pradesh Congress Committee President Lal Thanzara, signaling a commitment to coalition governance and good governance principles. Present during these deliberations were representatives from MNF, including Robert Romawia Ralte, and Congress Ex-MP Ronald Sapa Tlau, underscoring the collaborative spirit driving the formation of the new coalition government in Mizoram’s Lawngtlai ADC.
