Myanmar woman apprehended with heroin worth Rs. 42.7 lakh in Mizoram

Authorities in Mizoram have arrested a woman from Myanmar for allegedly possessing heroin valued at Rs. 42.7 lakh in Champhai district. According to an official statement, the apprehension took place in Zokhawthar village, located in east Mizoram’s Champhai district, following a specific tip-off.

Promptly responding to the intelligence, a joint operation was launched by the paramilitary forces in collaboration with the Mizoram police at Zokhawthar, leading to the arrest of the suspect. During the operation, law enforcement officials discovered 61 grams of heroin in the possession of the accused individual.

The seized contraband, along with the apprehended suspect, was subsequently handed over to the state police stationed in Zokhawthar, as per the statement issued. Further investigation revealed that the confiscated heroin had an estimated value of Rs. 42.7 lakh.
