Nagaland Govt partners with Tata AIA to provide Universal Life Insurance coverage

The Government of Nagaland has partnered with Tata AIA Life Insurance to launch the ‘Chief Minister’s Universal Life Insurance Scheme’ (CMULIS). Under this program, the primary earning member of a family in the 18-60 age group will be provided with a life insurance cover of Rs 2 lakh.

The scheme aims to offer financial security to vulnerable sections of society, including those employed in the unorganized sector or with low-income levels. The state government will bear the cost of the insurance premiums. Commenting on the initiative, Shri Neiphiu Rio, Chief Minister of Nagaland, expressed his delight in collaborating with Tata AIA to make life insurance accessible to the people of Nagaland. He believes this program will ensure the financial well-being of several families.

Tata AIA’s leadership, including Mr. Venky Iyer, Managing Director & CEO, and Mr. Jeelani Basha, President & Chief Distribution Officer, expressed their honor in being a part of this landmark scheme. They affirmed their commitment to working with the state government to provide life insurance coverage to nearly 3.5 lakh people in Nagaland.
