This feature is similar to Instagram’s re-share status feature. It will also save users the hassle of taking screenshots or requesting the original uploader to personally send the media. So that they can re-share the status from their profile. Another feature, which is already available on Instagram and may now be available on WhatsApp, is double-tap to reply. The feature was spotted in WhatsApp’s Android beta app version 2.24.16.7 and will allow users to quickly respond to messages by double-tapping them.
WABetaInfo also reports that a default ‘heart emoji’ currently appears when responding to messages, similar to other Meta apps, including Instagram and Facebook. This will make responding to messages faster by allowing a double-tap functionality to respond instead of the current long press-to-hold functionality.
