Nissan Motor India has introduced the all-new GRAVITE, a seven-seater MPV priced at an introductory ₹5.65 lakh (ex-showroom), marking the first model under the company’s renewed product offensive and signalling a strategic push to expand its footprint in India’s high-volume entry MPV segment. Manufactured locally at Nissan’s Chennai facility, the launch reinforces the company’s long-term localisation and market expansion strategy.
The GRAVITE has been developed specifically for Indian consumers, offering flexible seating configurations from two to seven occupants, luggage capacity of up to 625 litres and more than 30 standard safety features, including six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control, Hill-Start Assist and Brake Assist. The vehicle adopts Nissan’s signature ‘C’ design language, LED lighting elements, modular interiors with premium upholstery, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, digital instrument cluster and wireless charging. Powered by a 1.0-litre petrol engine paired with manual and AMT transmission options, the MPV delivers fuel efficiency of up to 19.6 km/l and is available in five colour options along with a limited launch edition offering premium accessories.
Nissan’s ongoing dealer network expansion across Tier I and Tier II cities and its upcoming SUV pipeline are expected to strengthen the brand’s competitive positioning in India’s evolving passenger vehicle market.
