Mizoram’s Chief Minister, Lalduhoma, affirmed on Friday that recent state civil service examinations conducted by the Mizoram Public Service Commission (MPSC) were devoid of irregularities. Addressing concerns raised by the Mizo Zirlai Pawl (Mizo students’ body), Lalduhoma referenced an inquiry report submitted by M Lalmanzuala, former chairman of MPSC and former state chief secretary. According to Lalduhoma, the report concluded that there were no irregularities in the civil service examination held in 2013. He specifically refuted claims of marks alteration by examiners and tabulators, as alleged by the student body.

The Mizo Zirlai Pawl had staged protests outside the Mizoram Public Service Commission office last month, calling for the resignation of MPSC Chairman J.C. Ramthanga. Chief Minister Lalduhoma emphasized the thoroughness of the inquiry officer’s investigation, asserting that the government has approved the findings submitted.

Moreover, Lalduhoma highlighted the reinforcement of the Mizoram Public Service Commission following the dissolution of the Mizoram Sub-Ordinate Service Selection Board (MSSSB). He noted the transfer of staff and officers from MSSSB, strengthening the capabilities of MPSC.
