I&PR Minister Pu B. Lalchhanzova said that Vande Mataram continues to serve as a powerful symbol of national unity, inspiring Indians both within the country and abroad. The Minister was speaking at the one day media conclave “Vartalap” held at DIPR Auditorium in the state capital Aizawl. B. Lalchhanzova said that Vande Mataram song has historically played a role in national development and remains essential in fostering solidarity among citizens. “In a rapidly developing world, unity plays a vital role,” the minister said. The minister acknowledged that GST may appear challenging at the outset but argued that its primary goal is to improve the economic well-being of every citizen. He said the initiative could help transform Mizoram’s economic landscape, particularly in the distribution and management of goods, ultimately contributing to broader development. According to him, the reforms will positively impact low-income communities and bring benefits to the general public.
Pu B. Lalchhanzova added that taxation should not be viewed as a burden but as a civic responsibility. “Paying tax is not a punishment; it is a blessing that shows we are contributing to the nation,” he said. Lalchhanzova also revealed that the state government is working on strengthening tax collection systems in Mizoram, stressing the need for financial sustainability rather than complete dependence on central funding. The minister further expressed satisfaction with the central government’s focus on improving the conditions of economically disadvantaged groups. He noted that various central initiatives have already contributed to development across the state and pledged to pursue additional measures to accelerate growth. He also urged citizens to make full use of central government schemes, emphasizing that these programs play a crucial role in advancing development and improving the lives of the people.
