OpenAI has introduced a new subscription tier called ChatGPT Go, exclusively for users in India. Priced at ₹399 per month, it is one of the company’s most affordable plans, aiming to offer broader access to popular ChatGPT features without the higher cost of premium plans. The Go tier includes everything in the free version, plus extended access to GPT-5, OpenAI’s latest AI model. Subscribers also benefit from higher message limits, more daily image generations, extra file uploads, and advanced data analysis tools like Python. Additionally, the memory capacity is doubled compared to the free tier, enabling longer context retention in chats.

ChatGPT Go targets users looking for more capability without paying for the ₹1,999 Plus or ₹19,900 Pro plans. Unlike Plus, which offers legacy models like GPT-4o and tools such as Sora and connectors, Go focuses on essential AI features at a lower cost. The plan is rolling out gradually across India, and users can check availability via their ChatGPT account. Payments can be made through UPI or credit cards in INR, with flexible cancellation options. OpenAI may consider expanding Go globally based on user feedback from India.
