India’s largest e-business-to-business platform, udaan, has reported that over 2.25 billion products were shipped in CY 2023, catering to over 23 million orders across all states of Bharat. The platform’s Essentials category saw a surge with a repeat purchase rate of over 90%, with over 504 million biscuit packets, 437 million personal care units, 251 million beverage units, and 87 million noodle packets sold.
The Discretionary category saw a surge with 1.3 million orders and over 31 million products shipped, including 21 million+ accessories, 7.5 million consumer electronics, and 2.5 million mobile handsets. The General Merchandise & Hardware category saw a large volume of orders for over 7.5 million products, including 4.7 million Plastic products, Appliances & Cookware items, 1.7 million Metal utensils, and 1 million Cycles, Luggage, Toys & Baby Care products.
900 sellers achieved sales worth INR 1 crore each, with 700 from the essentials category and 200 from the Discretionary category. Nearly 600 sellers achieved sales of over INR 2 crore, with 500 from the Essentials category and 100 from the Discretionary category. Vaibhav Gupta, Co-Founder and CEO of udaan, said that the platform remains committed to empowering small businesses in Bharat by leveraging technology and customer service excellence.
