Pachhunga University College has been ranked 49th and Mizoram University placed 82nd in the latest national rankings of colleges and universities released by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), highlighting their growing academic excellence on the national stage.

Ministry of Education, Government of India, officially announced the 2025 NIRF rankings today in New Delhi. During the announcement, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan highlighted that the NIRF is a flagship initiative of the Ministry aimed at encouraging healthy competition among higher education institutions through a structured evaluation process. Launched in 2015, the NIRF celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.

PUC and MZU are the only institutions from the Northeast region to be included in the top 100 this year.
