Passengers of Air India counter bomb threats

An Air India flight to New York was while two IndiGo flights to Muscat and Jeddah were grounded Monday was an unusual morning for these aircraft from Mumbai, as bomb threats delayed their preparations. An Air India flight from Mumbai to New York’s JFK International Airport was diverted to Delhi due to a bomb threat. When it arrived at Indira Gandhi International Airport it was directed to an isolated bay for necessary security checks as is regular procedure. A spokesman of Air India confirmed that all passengers were safely unloaded in Delhi and taken to the terminal.

On October 14 flight from Mumbai to JFK was redirected to Delhi due to a security notice issued by the government’s security regulatory commission. Air India is attempting to reduce any inconvenience while prioritizing the safety & security of its passengers. As Delhi Police and airport authorities conducted extensive checks the plane remained at IGI Airport. Bomb threats were received on two separate IndiGo planes departing from Mumbai one to Muscat and the other to Jeddah. Both flights were moved to separate berths and security checks were conducted out. The Mumbai-Muscat airplane took off seven hours after its scheduled departure time. The one to Jeddah is likely to begin its voyage within the next half-hour.
